The repair procedure for this body was quite complicated and it took some really high tech tools to undo the damage done. The first thing that I did was to lay the body down onto the bed of my scanner and scan the damaged area in as a grayscale file.

Then I used the bezier pen tool in Photoshop® (No we're not affiliated with Adobe® systems either) to trace the outline of the damage area. I then converted the Photoshop® file into an Illustrator® file and used Illustrator® to blow up the object the exact amount needed for my router inlay template cutters to do thier thing.

Once we had a picture of exactly what we needed to clean up the edges of the damage we printed it onto a transparency and taped it onto the guitar for comparison. You are looking at a scan of the transparency with some hand drawn markings on it as well. When we got everything perfect we printed a final transparency to use as a guide for making the router templates.
