The fake top can be seen through the sound hole opening of the original top since it doesn't have any sound hole cut out.

| This photo show us repairing some of the major damage to the original top. Since the wood was so old and severely damaged, we opted for making a "faux" top out of the same grade of spruce that the original top was made out of. We then used the fake top as a backing to reassemble the pieces of the original top.
