This is a photograph of how the many splits and cracks in the two back laminates were repaired. Since the wood was warped and split in over twenty different spots, we opted for delaminating the back. We then cut splints out that we could clamp on both sides of the laminate, and on either side of the crack. That's four splints for each crack, a top and bottom splint for each side of the crack. Each splint had sandpaper glued on it so that when it was clamped it would grip the wood.

With the splints in position on either side of the crack we then used some "Quickgrip®" clamps to pull the crack together. This was painstaking work and took a lot of time, as there were over forty cracks to repair in this fashion, and almost every crack required its own special splint set!

All of the cracks in the top were repaired in a similar fashion.
